Pigeon Cave Tour

North of Ksamil, along the coast towards Saranda, lies Pigeon Cave: a sea cave whose water turns an almost artificial turquoise when the sun comes through the opening. It's reachable only by sea, and the tour from Ksamil lasts half a day with coastal cruising and swim stops.

Inside the cave you swim with a mask: light filters through the entrance and colours the water from blue to green. The tour from €35 includes boat transport, snorkelling and 1-2 extra stops along the coast, often at small deserted rocky coves.

Good to know

• Cave light peaks between 10am and 2pm with high sun: afternoon tours find it already in shadow.
• If the north-westerly blows above a certain strength the cave can't be reached safely and the tour is cancelled: it happens, ask the evening before.
• There's no beach and no bar: it's rock and water. Bring everything you need (water, sunscreen, reef shoes).
